Newquay, Ceredigion

Witness called Wynn. 'Walking down towards the quay Monday night about 5-ish saw a weird orange globe over the sea close to the horizon. Thought it was a boat or maybe a star or something but it then moved north towards Aber [Aberystwyth] so I think it could have been a UFO.'

MUFON
Thursday 27th February, early morning

Witness was woken up by his wife asking about a strange noise, 'a deep tone hum'. Witness went to the window and then opened it, attempting to establish the source. The road was quiet and no other sounds could be heard, not even bird song. By this point the noise had been going on for 15 to 20 minutes. Then three bright flashes of light went off, with a second or less between each. As soon as the third flash occurred the noise stopped, bird song and traffic sounds filtering back in.

The experience was reported to MUFON later that day:

"I was woke from my sleep by my wife she asked me what is that noise. All i could hear was a deep tone hum, so i looked out of the bedroom window to see what was making the noise and could not see anything, so I opened the window to get a better look.

The hum was still continuing just one long tone. I was leaning out the window to get a better look the road was quiet (being a dead end no through traffic ) all I could hear was the Hum no other sounds not even bird song that we can usually at that time of morning.

By now the Hum had been going on for 15 to 20 minuets. Not sure if was the Hum or just that I was still half a sleep but it was getting difficult to think or focus my thoughts.

Then there was 3 bright white flashes as if someone had set a camera flash off in my face 3 times in a row with only a second between each flash, as soon as the 3rd flash happened the Hum just stopped and then i could hear bird song and the sound of light traffic in the distance but no moving cars in my road or other roads close by. Went back to bed with a mild headache."

Monday 3rd March, 19:00
Treboeth, Swansea

Tom James, aged 68, was at home in Heol Cnap, Treboeth, and was putting the rubbish out just after 7 PM.

He looked up at the stars and was drawn to a patch of sky towards the north-east. He saw a white light, like a satellite, shooting across the sky towards the north-west, but much faster than a satellite.

He said it was not a meteorite because it left no trail. He stood there wondering if his eyes were playing tricks, when about a minute later he saw another. This came from the same direction and then suddenly stopping, and shooting shot back at an acute angle of about 20 degrees, making a ‘V’ turn without stopping, and shooting back out of sight.

He said it was fast, and moved at the same speed forwards and backwards.

15th March
Talywain, Torfaen

Witness and their friend were driving over the British from Talywain, noting that there was yellow lightning in the distance and what looked like clouds moving like waves over the mountains. They pulled over and within a few minutes were covered in thick fog, with a blue flashing which lit up the car.

Witness put the car window down and looked up, noting there was a complete circle of clearness around the car. As the fog cleared they saw a turquoise blue ball in the sky. It rose up, grew brighter, then dispersed in every direction without making any noise. The following day friends told the witness they had also seen the ball, moving back and forth while hovering low over Talywain.

"Both myself and friend were taking a drive up over the British from Talywain and noticed how strange the sky was as there was yellow lightining in the distance towards Blackwood, and what seemed to be clouds moving like waves over the mountain.

I pulled the car over and stopped. As we both sat there having a cigarette within a few minutes, we were covered in fog which came down really thick, there was a constant blue flashing light within the fog, lighting up my car.

I put my window down and noticed it was relativley hot for the time of night, as i looked up i noticed there was a complete circle of clear above us and around the car. As the fog began to clear, i noticed out of the corner of my eye, a turqoise blue ball in the sky, over Talywain/Pentwyn area, i said to my mate what the hell is that!

we both watched gobsmacked as this ball rose up in the air, stop and then get brighter and what look like to me as if it dispursed in every direction, there was no noise. We were both dumbfounded as to what it was and neither of us could explain it. The next day we met up with friends and they too had seen the strange blue ball but they explained that it was hovering low over Talywain for a while moving back and forth.

ive seen some strange lights in the sky over the years, but this was odd, especially the clouds and blue flashing light, reminded me of the clouds seen on Close Encounters of the Third Kind, infact they were exactly like that but with a blue flashing light inside the clouds and no it wasnt lighting, as the lightning we saw was yellow/gold."

Tuesday 15th April, 06:45
Wallis, Pembrokeshire

Elyse O'Neill photographed a UFO hovering over her garden. The Western Telegraph of the same day reported on the story:
A YOUNG woman from a small north Pembrokeshire village believes she had a close encounter early this morning (Tuesday). Elyse O’Neill from Wallis, near Woodstock, was standing outside her house at around 6.45am when she saw an unidentified flying object hovering over a large tree near the bottom her garden.

“I ran inside the house to get my phone, but there wasn’t enough battery left to film it, but there was enough to take pictures, so I started snapping away,” she said. Elyse, 26, described the UFO as being the size of a car and was 'spinning around like a topper.'

She said: “As I watched it, it split up into two pieces and then it went back into one. It then shot off into the sky in the blink of an eye. It just went up and up until I couldn’t see it anymore. I’ve never seen anything like this before, it was a bright morning with clear blue skies. I’m sounding as if I’m crazy, but I’m just a normal girl living in the country. My heart is still in my mouth.”

Elyse shared her photos of the UFO on Facebook, tagging various friends and family, and they were soon picked up by the national tabloids.

“I just want people to see what I saw,” she said, “and let them make their own minds up about what they think it was.”

The Alien Contact blog enhanced the image and determined it was likely the reflection of a lightbulb in a window.

Prestatyn

The Rhyl, Prestatyn and Abergele Journal published a story on April 22nd 2014 about a recent sighing by Gordon Burnell, of Marrion Road, Prestatyn. Gordon reported the sighting to police, who passed it on to the National Police Air Service. He said:

"I was very shocked to see this cylinder shape just below the high clouds, it was not moving. It then seemed to rotate showing silver and black then stopped again, I watched this for some time just amazed at what I was seeing. I was on my own at the time, the object had no sound or trail smoke or lights, it flew off into the blue section of the sky and went so high, it vanished quite slow. Looking how high the object was I would say it must have been over 50 feet long."

A PRESTATYN resident had his own close encounter with an unidentified flying object this week.

Gordon Burnell, 67, spotted the UFO hovering above his garden on April 15, on Marrion Road, when he was looking up at a buzzard. He believed the object to be heading east.

He said: “I was very shocked to see this cylinder shape just below the high clouds, it was not moving. It then seemed to rotate showing silver and black then stopped again, I watched this for some time just amazed at what I was seeing.

“I was on my own at the time, the object had no sound or trail smoke or lights, it flew off into the blue section of the sky and went so high, it vanished quite slow. Looking how high the object was I would say it must have been over 50 feet long.”

Police confirmed the reported sighting at 3.20pm and have passed on the information to the National Police Air Service.

This is not the first time Gordon has spotted unusual activity in the skies however. In 1968 he was visiting his friends in Higher Chisworth, near Glossop, Derbyshire, when two gold objects shot over the top of his car.

He said: “Two gold objects shot over the top of my car and stopped it dead, killing all the electrics and the radio. After they had passed my lights came back on but the radio never worked again. Boffins from Woodford air base checked the radio and said it had suffered a massive magnetic force.”

“BUFORA examiners came out to the site with special measuring equipment and estimated the objects were travelling at least 7,000 mph.

“A few seconds after my car was stopped a night watchman at a mill in Oldham, 5 miles away, was having a cig at the back of the mill where there was a cornfield that had been cut, and the chaff shot about 100ft in the air as the UFO’s flew past.”

Gordon has been in touch with BUFORA (British UFO Research Agency) about his second sighting, who are going to examine the photographs with special equipment.

T. Jones saw a small white object travelling quickly in NNE direction. It flashed twice and vanished, the entire sighting lasting about 5 seconds.

Source: UK UFO - reported on April 26th 2014.

"I saw a small, white object travelling quickly in NNE direction. I watched it for about 5 seconds before it flashed twice and vanished. At first I thought it was a soaring seagull, but they don’t flash or disappear and it was too short and squat to be a commercial plane. It is difficult to guess the altitude, but 8 – 9000 feet? I spend a lot of time looking at planes, but I have never seen anything like this before."

UK UFO
12th May, 11:40
Severn Bridge, Newport

Craig Brown saw an orb - translucent in colour with hints of pink and yellow - just above a plane. It was about a quarter of the plane's size, went under the plane at high speed, then changed shape into a cube. It returned to an orb shape, made a backwards 'c' movement, then shot past the plane and vanished within a couple of seconds.

Source: UK UFO - reported on May 22nd 2014.

"I have seen many things in the sky, but most I can explain! but I was driving over the Severn bridge by newport heading towards Bristol. In my vision from the windscreen I saw a normal plane very clearly as it was a clear day, then just above the plane I saw what I can only describe as an orb translucent in colour with hints of pink and yellow, around 1/4 of the size of the plane. it seemed to stay still but then went below the plane at a very high speed, it then changed shape, more like a cube for about 5 sec and then back to an orb shape before doing a backwards c shape and shot of past the plane and vanished within a couple of seconds! It seemed to be morphing but could also seem slightly invisible! And the way it moved made it impossible for anything I know! It behaved as if it was surveying the area and started to behave it radically when the plane was close? Very strange and I wish I could know what it was!!!"

Haverfordwest to Swansea

Gavin Davies of the Paranormal Chronicles saw a bright start like object making sudden course changes. This story was covered by various press outlets including local papers, Wales Online, and the Mirror:

Gavin Davies was in bed and saw a light through the window.

A bright, star-like object was seen making sudden course changes. It made no sound and was estimated to be about 800 ft in altitude. Two smaller objects were seen ‘tracking’ the larger one and displaying some amazing agility.

Gavin: "My immediate suspicion was that it was the International Space Station but I checked and it had already passed. It is literally a UFO. I'm not saying it's aliens but at this time we don’t know what it is."

It was too bright to be a Chinese lantern and the 'drastic course changes' seems to rule out that possibility.

Gavin runs a website: www.theparanormalchronicles.com and investigates paranormal phenomena, including UFOs. He publicised his sighting in the Carmarthen Journal and got an article in the Mirror online.

Witness accounts have also made it apparent that the object was also seen travelling of Narberth, Whitland and Swansea after midnight.

SUFON
Early Summer
Swansea

Clear evening. Warm and fine.

Sleician Cullen lived in Port Tennant and thinks this sighting occurred in early summer as it was getting dark by 8 pm, which was the approximate time of the sighting. He had taken his dog to Maesteg Park in Port Tennant and it was running around in the rugby field at the top of the park when Sleician saw an object in the sky heading over Swansea city centre, having just come over Kilvey Hill and heading west.

It was a large cube-shaped object, about the size of a house. It moved very slowly over the city as it headed towards Gower. Sleician described it as being dark brown in colour and had lighter shades on different faces. He could make out markings like squiggles and lines on its sides. There was no sound and it did not spin or turn, but stayed level.

It travelled on a level path, about 1000 - 2000 feet in altitude. Sleician said that what struck him was that as it moved away from him towards the west, it didn't diminish in size, and was just as large over Brynmill as it had been over Kilvey Hill.

Once past Brynmill it rapidly got smaller until he could see it no more over the Gower Peninsula. In all it had taken about 20 minutes to move from Kilvey Hill until it disappeared from sight in the distance.

NUFORC
Friday 11th July, c. 19:30 / 20:00.
Swansea

Witness, an amateur astronomist in his 30s, was driving home with his partner when he saw a very bright star-like light. It was white and 'seemed to be at least double the size of how Venus or Jupiter would look on a clear winter's night'. The sighting lasted around ten seconds before the light faded away.

He reported the sighting to NUFORC on Sunday 20th July 2014:

"Bright star-like light in daylight, like Jupiter but much brighter. Viewed by me for 10 seconds. Not moving, faded into nothing.Hello, In the sky to the south west while driving home I saw a light, like a star but much brighter. It was a clear evening, very few clouds and being around 7.30 to 8 pm, it was still very much light.

The "star" was white and seemed to be at least double the size of how Venus or Jupiter would look on a clear winters night, yet this was in daylight.I'm an educated man and have an interest in astronomy. I said to my partner who was sitting in the car next to me, I think Betelgeuse has gone supernova. I was so excited and couldn't believe it.

I tried to show her where but she didn't see, I viewed it for what seemed like 10 seconds and then over a period of around 1 second it faded to nothing. I knew then that if a star like Betelgeuse had indeed exploded it should be visible for weeks or months. I rushed home and put on the news in case there were any reports of such things, there were not.I mulled this around in my mind that night.

The light was not moving, when it faded there was nothing, no object at all left in the sky. I found this website and thought I should report it. I would like to add that I am in my 30 s and have never seen anything like this before. ((NUFORC Note: Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. For some reason, witness indicates that the date is approximate. PD))"

MUFON

Witness was watching a plane cross the coast and head west, followed by a bright sphere. It was very shiny, 'like a ball bearing', and seemed to be about half the size of the plane's tail fin. Witness watched it continue to trail at the same distance to the plane until both were out of sight.

Witness reported the two minute long sighting to MUFON on Tuesday 29th January 2019:

"I was enjoying the sunny afternoon weather in the city of swansea in south wales when an airplane caught my eye. the plane was crossing the coast and heading west. the plane was not at a great height and although distant the details of the fuselage such as windows and colour were clear. i could clearly see a bright sphere trailing the plane. it seemed to be about half the size of the tail fin and slightly to one side. i looked like a ball bearing, very shiny. i watched until it was no longer visible. it maintained it's course and position relative to the airplane."

Monday July 21st
Mayhill, Swansea

This is the early morning image of the skies over Swansea which left an ex-soldier staring in amazement. The photograph, which was taken in the early hours of Monday, shows a shadowy object hovering several hundred feet in the air, over Llansamlet.

The witness said the object made no noise and soon disappeared. The photograph was taken by quick-thinking Paul Lewis, who snapped the object from the bedroom window of his home in Mayhill. Mr. Lewis, who was formerly with the Royal Armoured Corps, immediately ruled out the possibility the object was a helicopter or any kind of aircraft as there was no noise.

"It was very hot in my bedroom so I opened the window and noticed a strange, stationary object hovering above Swansea," he said.

"The object made no noise and my first notion was perhaps it was an exceptionally large bird of prey however the object remained stationary for at least five minutes. I thought that it was strange and it seemed to have something hanging below it so I grabbed my phone and I took several pictures of it. The whole time the object made no movement and no sound. I must have watched it for seven or eight minutes in total."

After attending to his young son Caesen for a moment, Paul, aged 24, says the object disappeared.

"When you look at the picture it would be easy to suggest it might be a bird or kite, but then this would have to be a very large object and to remain stationary for so long was unusual," he said.

"I doubt a bird of that size could hover for that long. We would be talking about a huge bird. There is also something hanging beneath it also. I would like to know if perhaps anyone else who was up at that time and saw the object as I would like to know what it is. I certainly will be keeping an eye out in future to see if the object returns."

The strange episode has been highlighted by UFO enthusiast Gavin Davies, who runs the Paranormal Chronicles website. He said: "Some will see an alien spaceship and some will see a bird or a plane. It will be interesting to see if anyone else witnessed the object or has clear evidence, not speculation, on what it is."

SUFON
Thursday July 24th, afternoon
Penclawdd, Gower

Date is approximate. Heather Davies was visiting her parents who live in a terraced house, one of three, overlooking the road called Greenacres in Penclawdd. Heather had just gone out to the front garden which overlooks the estuary to the north. The house is situated on the northern slope of a hill.

There was a clear blue sky and no wind. She saw two perfectly round greyish spheres, reflecting sunlight, pass over her head from behind her, heading northwards towards Trostre on the other side of the Loughor Estuary. There was no sound or flashing lights, and the spheres just continued on a straight path, not fast, out over the estuary, a couple of hundred feet in altitude.

She said she had a feeling that they were intelligently controlled, and they were travelling very close to one another, like the way the Red Arrows fly in formation, with wings almost touching. The sphere on the left fell slightly behind and below the other one. They looked like solid objects with well-defined edges, no jaggedness or protrusions.

Heather watched them for about two minutes and didn’t take her eyes off them. Suddenly, about mid-way over the estuary, they just simply disappeared in an instant like a light being switched off.

PRESS
Monday 4th August, 22:20
Wrexham

Multiple witnesses saw two red lights fly silently over Wrexham. They were actually two Lynx helicopters on night training from RAF Valley. Wrexham.com reported on the story:

A UFO was spotted flying over Wrexham and North Wales last night.

David, who filmed the video below, said: “I was looking towards Bradley from First Avenue in Gwersyllt at about 10:20pm. The lights were quite far apart but connected, no sound, slowly flew towards town.

“They were flashing in sync but not together, no other colours, just red.”

Another who saw it said: “Quite clearly could see it, there was no noise and it was bang in the middle of town on a quiet night.”

A third who viewed the UFO said: “There were red lights flashing in the sky, they were quite far apart but travelling really slow.”

Stephen mentioned on our Facebook page: “Anyone see two red lights fly low over Wrexham last night? Wasn’t a plane, helicopter and defo not lanterns.”

Wrexham.com were sent the link to the following video [converted to GIF 06/06/2021] which shows two separate red lights moving across the skies of town:

Up the road towards Deeside another person saw what could be the same lights, tweeting Deeside.com :

“We didn’t see anything significant on Flightradar24 – traffic in to LPL appears to be coming in low over Queesferry tonight though.”

UPDATE – MYSTERY LIKELY SOLVED: This mystery is now likely solved via help from Thomas Williams (@TomW18) who spotted some debate about if the UFO’s were Chinook helicopters.

Thomas got in touch and told us they were 2 Lynx HMA.8 of the Royal Navy, call sign Rascal. It is likely they were on night flying exercises. Thomas tells us ‘Pilots have to train to fly at night to maintain readiness’.

The Lynx were flying out of RAF Valley, which also ties with the following picture [now unavailable] spotted by Deeside.com of Lynx at RAF Valley in the same time period, possibly of the very aircraft seen!

Friday 15th August, 07:00
Llanddulas, Colwyn Bay

Witness statement: "Whilst out walking on the beach at Llanddulas at approx 7 am, I had stopped to watch some sea birds diving down into the water about 30 metres off the shoreline. As I watched, a weird solid structure appeared in the sky above them to the North and moved slowly towards the beach. I thought at first it was a balloon, but it was very solid and metal looking.

I quickly grabbed my mobile phone and took a picture of it as it turned left and moved in an Easterly direction. It looked like it had a pair of dipped wings or something hanging down from it on each side, but it was also a bit pointed at the front. It made a slight humming sound, and it had white and blue lights that seemed to glow or pulsate. As it turned to the East they changed to a yellow colour.

I would say that I watched it for approx. 90 seconds and as it moved down the coastline, it did seem to change shape slightly. It then just disappeared about a mile away from my position on the beach.

There were a couple on the beach who may have seen this too because they walked behind me as I was watching it. I think they were foreign though, because they were quite tanned and spoke to each other with an accent so I didn't say anything to them.

I am familiar with aircraft and this was 100% no helicopter or fixed wing craft and certainly no weather balloon because this was moving in a controlled manner."

Witness was driving along the A541 when they saw a pale white luminescent object moving steadily across the sky. It was larger than a commercial airliner and appeared to be made of three cojoined triangles.

The sighting lasted 10 to 15 seconds and was reported to UFO Hunters on the same day:

"Driving along the A541 dual carriageway at 8:33 am towards the junction of the B5444. Saw an object moving steadily across the sky which I could not identify. Was larger than a commercial airliner and had an unusual shape. Looked as though it was made up of three joined up triangles. Was pale white in colour and was luminescent similar to the Moon. I observed it for around 10 to 15 seconds, but was not able to take a photo on my phone as I was driving. I lost sight of the object, but then it was not visible on the trajectory which it had been taking previously. Looking on the map, I guess it was flying SW to NE over the Padeswood area, although given its size, it's hard to know just how far away it was."

Fforestfach, Swansea

Nigel and Susan Morgan were driving up Carmarthen Road in Fforestfach at dusk on his 50th birthday, having been shopping in a nearby shopping centre and were returning home to Gendros. They were just passing the war memorial in slow traffic, facing east heading towards Swansea when Nigel, who was in the passenger seat had a feeling that he should look up, so wound the window down and put his head out.

Looking up, he saw a huge matt black triangle hovering about 70 feet up. It had rounded corners and had four off-white round lights, one in each corner and one in the centre, the lights weren’t bright, but just had a dim glow. It was large enough to cover the two lanes on their side of the dual carriageway. The black body of the craft was dull, not reflecting any light.

It followed them up the road for a little way, and near Fforestfach Cross, it "disappeared in a split second" as if someone had switched it off", said Nigel, "I was still trying to comprehend what was going on, the, 'click' – it was gone." There was no sound coming from the object during the sighting. Susan did not see the object because she was concentrating on driving.

Dee Estuary off Flint

Clear sunny day, no cloud.

Lynn Murphy was with her son, Jason Thomas travelling on the A548 from Connah's Quay towards Flint. They saw a bright silvery object over the Dee Estuary on the right ahead of them in the direction of the end of Wirral peninsula. They watched it as they went through Oakenholt and continuing on this coastal road. They decided to get down to the river for a better look so stopped at Flint at the water's edge and got of the car.

Lynn: "We were at the end of this platform and watched it. And we just stood there and we couldn't figure out what it was.We were only there for a couple of minutes I think and it just disappeared. We tried to figure out what it wasn't, but we didn't know what it was."

Lynn remembers it as being a silver ball, but her son, being ex-military and good at aircraft recognition said it was a crescent in shape, but its top was angled rather than a perfect curve. And it was metallic and silvery in colour. Jason estimates that it's distance away from them was about 2 to 2 1/2 miles, which would mean that the object would have been up to 100 metres in length.

It was at an elevation of 50-60 degrees, had no flashing lights and was silent. As they were watching it disappeared. It didn't fly off, it just disappeared instantly.

Late September, late evening
Gorseinon

Off-duty Police officer, ‘D’ was driving in Gowerton, north along Victoria Road when he saw straight ahead and in the sky a bright white light, which he at first thought was a helicopter or plane. Noticing that it was stationary, he crossed the roundabout between Gowerton and Gorseinon and pulled into park at the entrance to Swansea Sound radio station to get a better view. It then started to move towards him.

He could now see another light next to it, presumably part of the same object, and he thought the lights could be at the ends of wings on an aeroplane, but there were no flashing navigation lights showing. It then turned and headed north east towards Garden Village. Now that it had turned, he could see another white light at the rear of the object.

He pulled out and followed it, turning right at the next roundabout and parking again at the cemetery. He got out of the car and it flew over is head, and it was now that he could get a better idea of what he was seeing. He could now see that it was not a plane or a helicopter.

He could not see the object itself, but only four white lights moving together, as if on the same object, and there was no sound, which ruled out plane or helicopter. Three in a row and one at the rear and above the first three, like a triangle moving with one side first and one corner above and behind, as if it was leaning over.

He lost sight of it as it moved eastwards over the cemetery. He got back in his car and followed, stopping again at the Days car rental, but there was now no sign of it.

Bright evening. Off-duty Police officer, ‘D’ was travelling by car along the M4 heading for Cardiff.

He was passing Margam with the reservoir for the steelworks on his right when he saw an object ahead, to the right of the motorway, in the distance, over Kenfig, moving horizontally west to east (his right to left), 40 degrees above the horizon.

The object was a golden ball of light, which seemed to ‘explode’ but continued on its path, and cascading down golden particles like welding sparks, then it ‘exploded’ a second time, continuing on its path, still raining sparks, and ‘exploded’ a third time, after which it became a small white light, flashing on and off, which then drifted towards Porthcawl.

He had never seen anything like it before.

Jason Williams was in the car park of Cwmfelin Social Club when he saw three lights in the daytime overcast sky to the east of his location, towards the Landore area. From his viewpoint, looking over the roof of the club, he took a video of the objects. One appears to be tinged red, the other two, blue or white.

"I was in the car park of the Cwmfelin Club when I noticed them," Jason said. "There was no reflection off my car or anything from me. They were hovering around in the clouds, and eventually two disappeared but one remained in sight then it eventually went behind the clouds. They didn’t seem to be those Chinese lanterns as they looked very high and a lot brighter than the lanterns usually are. They didn’t move like lanterns either."

Witness was walking home with his wife and kids when he saw 'two star like objects' which were extremely bright. They slowly started to fade away to nothing.

The sighting was reported to MUFON on the same day:

"Walking home with kids, picked up my son to look at the bright moon then realised two star like objects which looked like a part of a constellation, massively brighter than they should have been, pointed out to my wife and they slowly started to fade away to nothing. Thinking back they seemed a lot closer in the sky than light years away where the stars would have been. Really very very unnerving as we all watched them."

Steve Thomas was sat with his colleague in a works' van at Mynydd Islwyn covered reservoir when he noticed what he took to be a small executive jet flying very low. He jokingly said to his workmate, "Look out, UFO", so they both watched it fly very slowly. Steve then remarked he could see no wings or tail, and his colleague agreed.

"By now it had our full attention and I turned the radio in the van off to see if we could hear sound of any engine, but there was complete silence. It made it's way past us then turned North West towards Tredegar still travelling very slowly until it faded into the distance after about 5 minutes.

The object was reminiscent of a toothpaste box (!) with a slope at the front end, it looked like one of the Space Shuttles, about the size of a large van/single decker bus and was all white apart from 3 or 4 black circles along the length of the side facing us.....didn't look aerodynamic at all really. No lights, no sound, no visible wings or tail and I estimate it to have been no more than 1000 feet up in the sky."

"Sat with colleague in works van at Mynydd Islwyn covered reservoir having a coffee before starting work and I noticed what I thought was one of those small executive jets flying very low coming from our front left. I jokingly said to my workmate “Look out, UFO”, just to get his attention and to break the silence, so we were both watching it flying VERY slowly across our front for a few seconds, then I remarked that I couldn’t see any wings or tail on the object which my colleague also agreed with. By now it had our full attention and I turned the radio in the van off to see if we could hear sound of any engines, but there was complete silence.

It made it’s way past us then turned North West? towards Tredegar still travelling very slowly until it faded into the distance after about 5 minutes. The object was reminiscent of a Toothpaste box (!) with a slope at the front end, it looked like one of the Space Shuttles, about the size of a large van/single decker bus and was all white apart from 3 or 4 black circles along the length of the side facing us….didn’t look aerodynamic at all really. No lights, no sound, no visible wings or tail and I estimate it to have been no more than 1000 feet up in the sky.

Asked my colleague to draw what he saw a couple of days later and it was practically identical to mine. Gutted we didn’t take any photos on our phones but we were too busy watching this object, and surprised I haven’t seen any mention of it considering it was rush hour on a Monday morning over a busy town."

On November 14th 2014 Steve commented: "Sorry for not replying sooner but my laptops been off limits for a while. Really don’t know how to post a picture on here Stephen but they were really rudimentary drawings done in a few seconds and strikingly similar. @Nemo, the object was practically at eye level with us, no more than half a mile away. We were working on the peak of a mountain/hill so the 1000ft is my estimate. Definitely looked like a solid object, not a balloon…..like I said, more like an executive jet with no tail or wings."

And again on January 5th 2015: "Just found a very similar story to mine on Shropshirelive.com, Phil Hoyles Shropshire UFO page. The Craft is practically identical to what we saw except the circles along the body were black not red. Very similar in terms of landscape too….uncanny"

October or November, 20:15 / 20:30
Garngoch, Swansea

Dry evening – dark. Jason Torlop was driving his wife, Karen, to her work at Cefn Coed Hospital from their home in Gorseinon. They were going east along the Gorseinon by-pass and had just gone under the bridge at Garngoch when they saw three large, round, dazzling, off-white lights, 100 yards away on the left hand side. They were about 10-20 feet above the trees and were aligned horizontally in a row.

Karen said, "Oh my god, what the hell is it?" and she put her head out of the window for a better look. She thought at first it was a jumbo jet as it was so large – about 100 feet across. They could not see anything between the lights but had a feeling they were all connected.

Each light was about 4 – 6 ft in diameter. There were no flashing lights and no noise. There was other traffic on the road so others must have seen the lights. They could not tell if it was moving as they were in a moving car. It was moving it must have been slowly.

Jason returned the same way about 15 minutes later after dropping Karen in work and it had gone. They had never seen it before and passed that way regularly.

Clear night. A witness saw an object which was boomerang or V-shaped. It had a constant orange or yellow uniform glow along length of shape. The witness thought it was a Chinese lantern at first but was moving too quickly and flying back and forth over a woodland area before descending down at approximately a 60 degree angle.

The witness said it was definitely not a bird as the shape was rigid and luminous. The witness discounted the possibility it could have been a remote controlled aircraft or drone, as it had a continuous glow, and went to area in daylight, and found that it is all woodland.

"It rose toward the trees and I thought it was a lantern bur speed was too quick. Then travelled a few hundred metres, turned back and forth like a bird over a hundred metres several times but the shape was rigid. It had a continuous glow along its length. Called two mature adults to look at it. Where the area was you would have to walk a fair distance in the dark to area to fly a model plane, which you would risk damaging."

Witness was sat in bed doing sudoku puzzles when his eyes were attracted to a couple of lights through the window. They were both white and far too big and bright to be stars. He pointed them out to his wife. After two or three seconds a third light appeared. This light was yellow in the centre with red edges, and moved down then scooped upwards. Within a few seconds all three lights went out.

The sighting was reported to MUFON on Wednesday 24th December 2014:

"Last night I was sat up in bed doing my usual sudokus. It was just five past ten and a dark night. In front and to the left of where we sleep is a window. It is about 5 feet above floor level and measures about five feet across by one foot up and down. I looked up from my puzzle to think.

My eyes were attracted to a couple of lights through the window. They were both whiteish and for a second I thought they were stars. But they were far too bright and too big to be stars. The one on the left was the largest and brightest and was several times the size and brightness of a star. It was even a few times the size of Venus in the sky. The one on the right was a little smaller and dimmer and appeared to be a fraction lower in the sky.

The lights did not seem to move at all. By thinking about the position of these lights within the frame of the window, I estimated that these lights were almost exactly west of where I was sitting. After just two or three seconds a third light appeared. It was slightly closer to the left of the brighter light.

This third one moved. It seemed to move away from my position, a little to the right in a big dipper sort of movement, starting to go a little down then scoop upwards. It was two coloured. The central part was yellow and the edges were red. It went through my mind that it was a sort of flame pushing this third light away.

Within two seconds all the lights went out. That was it. I spent much of the night looking, but to no avail. My wife also saw the lights as I pointed them out to her. Her story mirrors mine."
