The Abergele and Pensarn Visitor of Thursday April 28th 1994 was impressed enough with the pub's haunting to put it on their front page...
SPOOK'S DRINKING HAUNT
A GHOSTLY visitor has a message for landlord Alan Yates - wine and spirits don't mix. The spook regularly knocks glasses from shelves and spills drinks at the Bull, in Chapel Street, Abergele. Last week Mr Yates opened up the bar to find it flooded with red wine. But when he checked the wine dispensers he found the taps were closed and completely dry, leaving him to count the cost of another visit from the spook his family have called Clarence since he first appeared five years ago.
"We've got used to having him around now and just accept it when we find glasses we stacked neatly on shelves laying on the floor, or taps turned on around the pub," said Alan. "We first noticed strange things happening when my daughter Laura was a baby and we put it down to poltergeist activity because we had read that it is often associated with psychic energy from young children," he said.
"But then my 24-year-old daughter Rachel saw Clarence when he appeared as a tall young man with curly dark hair and wearing what looks like a motorcycle cape. Since then he has been seen several times in our room eight and upset one lady, a spiritualist, who came down to ask if we knew we had a ghost because he had just moved her bed, but stopped when she told him to leave her alone.
"Glasses falling off shelves can be blamed on traffic vibrations but there is just too much going on here to dismiss lightly." Alan has discussed the ghostly visitor with his customers and several of them believe he was a local man, named Clarence, who died in a motorbike accident before World War II. "I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who can shed more light on him," said Alan.
Inital Abergele and Pensarn Visitor report identifying the ghost as Travis Worrall from August 11th 1994:

The February 9th 1995 edition reported on the pub's inclusion in a Myths and Legends TV show, and the identification of 'Clarence' as Travis Worrall. Worral was 21 when he died in a motorcycle accident on July 10th 1927.
