The Owain Glyndŵr Hotel in Corwen is said to be haunted. The Abergele and Pensarn Visitor of Thursday November 9th 1989 reported:
The story would not be complete without a mention of Nellie, the hotel's mischevious ghost who leaves taps running, switches lights on and off and has even been known to feel the bottoms of men working there. There are two stories connected to Nellie, but the one which John and Olwen favour is that she was the mistress of the naughty old abbot and comes back to haunt the place because he would not make an "honest" woman of her.
