NCA CASE 06-024612 / GWENT POLICE
The body of a white man, aged between 25 and 35 years old, was found on the foreshore of the Severn Estuary at Fisherman's Walk, Rogiet, on March 31st 1971. The man was medium build, 5'8" (175cm) tall, and had black curly hair. He was believed to have been in the water for at least 18 months.
His clothing consisted of one black sock on the right foot, and a 'Spinney' 100% Acrilan polo neck jumper in black, gold and white in size M.
Spinney was a fairly ubiquitous brand at the time - here's an example of their logo tags from a deadstock 1960s dress:
