The remains of a man were recovered from the sea off Llandudno on May 8th 1983, caught in the fishing nets of the 'Celtic Pride'. He was white, of medium build, and believed to have been in the water for around three to four months.
The man was found dressed in blue underwear with a white band, fine fawn grey houndstooth patterned trousers, a maroon shirt with black and white hoops (Wrangler), and a maroon quilted jacket with zip fastening (Belgium make). On his feet he wore brown leather shoes with a frill, marked Made in England.
The Aberdeen Evening Express of Monday 9th May 1983 reported:
Sea body mystery
A post mortem was being held today on a body landed by a fishing boat off the North Wales coast. The unidentified body, thought to be that of a young man, came up in the nets of the Celtic Pride, ten miles west of Llandudno.
