Poltergeist like activity was reported at the farm of Mr. and Mrs. Williams, between Trimsaran and Glyn Abbey.

The Western Mail of December 21st reported:

WEST WALES POLICE WATCH FOR "NOISY SPIRIT" (from our own reporter, Llanelly, Friday)

Mysterious happenings - attributed to a poltergeist, or "noisy spirit" - at a small isolated farm situated between the villages of Trimsaran and Glyn Abbey, near Llanelly, are alarming people living in the neighbourhood and providing a seasonable topic of conversation. The farm is occupied by Mr. David Williams, who lives there with his wife and 11-year-old son. The activities of the "unknown" and "unseen" have become so mischievous and destructive that the police have been called in to investigate an amazing series of incidents. A week or so ago household articles were found to have been mysteriously removed from one room to another.

OWL WENT DOWNSTAIRS. For instance, a stuffed owl in a glass case was removed from an upstairs room to one downstairs, articles of china were taken from a chest of drawers and placed neatly on the hob of the fireside. Since then the poltergeist seems to have become more destructive. In addition to panes of glass on the ground floor being broken large stones have fallen from the chimney and off the roof at various times of day and night.

So alarming were the various happenings that two police officers, Police-constable Allen and Police-constable J. L. G. Morgan, kept a night vigil while the family were accommodated in a neighbouring farm. On that occasion, however, everything remained quiet. Cynics have advanced the theory that most of the happenings have been caused by ground subsidence, but the older generation of miners in the locality state there are no underground workings near the farm.

PSYCHIC RESEARCH. It is understood that spiritualist societies are interesting themselves in the matter, and offers have been received to conduct a psychic research. Meantime, the farm is attracting a large number of sightseers from the surrounding district, and Mr. and Mrs. Williams are becoming tired of the attention of the curiously-minded. Although the Williams family have been on the farm for eight or nine years, this is the first occasion they have been disturbed by such ghostly maraudings.
