Two men blasting in a slate mine "noticed blood oozing out of the rock quite near to where they were working. One man was rather alarmed and called to his partner. Both together they scraped and saw two eyes and with a little hook scraped more until the frog was free and jumped out ... There was no fault or crevice, and the spot was at least 200 to 250 feet from the nearest outcrop. To all appearances the rock was certainly solid and the frog had made a little nest which appeared like the hole found in limestone when a big shell is loosened."

Redfern Thomas and his son had just climbed the 'Roman Steps' in the late 1920s when they encountered a ghost. Via personal correspondence woth Mr Thomas the Bords included the case in their 1991 book, Modern Mysteries of Britain:
"The mountain-top was deserted except for sheep and birds; then suddenly they became aware of the presence of a nicely dressed young girl, who approached them and greeted them in Welsh. Mr Thomas replied, and then she suddenly disappeared. Although they searched, they could find no trace of her."
